In my time as a DJ at Resound Radio, it has been my responsibility to record weekly two-hour shifts. Each shift consists of 10 roughly minute-long pre-recorded breaks focused on building up the listeners through relevant, relatable, encouraging, and engaging content.

I have learned so much from this role about how to be natural and authentic in my storytelling. My biggest challenge has always been brevity, as it a common tendency of mine to speak longwindedly. This experience has taught me how to keep this in check and deliver messages in a concise but engaging manner.

My philosophy as a DJ is to express love, truth, empathy, and vulnerability. If a story from my own life seems like it may resonate with a listener, I will share it with them. If the Lord places something on my heart that I feel listeners should hear, I will tell them about it. If I have an interesting or humorous experience that I think may intrigue or lift the spirits of listeners, I will tell them that story.

My ultimate hope is that listeners will be reminded that they are not alone in their struggles, and that there is a God who loves them deeply.
